- Design clinical study
- Consult with ADI core facility directors on feasibility of research design and how to best use the available resources
- Identify and select research collaborators and mentors
- Select study cohort
- Prepare and submit pilot project application
- Identify funding sources (pilot project funding, NIH grants, research fellowships, etc)
- Work with a clinical research coordinator to develop IRB applications and informed consent forms
- Prepare grant according to guidelines found at funding sites
- Conduct clinical research study
- Manage research budget
- Recruit study participants
- Gather necessary de-identified demographic, clinical, and experimental data
- Write and submit project progress reports every quarter or every six months during the funding period
- Completion of the study
- Prepare and submit study closeout report following NIH guidelines
